What is your personal 'WHY' that has led you to VEC?

Since I started my degree as a civil engineer in Brazil, the inefficiency of the construction sector has always caught my attention. Despite being one of the most important sectors for the global economy, the proposal of a digital transformation and continuous improvement of processes came late and often never comes to fruition. Therefore, the possibility of proposing a significant change in this modus operandi, through process improvement and efficient use of technology, motivated me to make this challenge one of my goals. And it is in this aspect that individual ambition aligns harmoniously with VEC's mission and vision.

What is your favorite VEC customer success story and/or what is your proudest moment working on a project at VEC?

It is when faced with the most challenging problems that I have felt the greatest moments of enthusiasm and pride at VEC. On several occasions, I have been able to feel the team's real collaboration in solving extremely difficult problems proposed by our clients. Observing the creativity and ability of the team in proposing innovative solutions and challenging limitations to achieve a common goal is an incredible feeling. In several coordination projects, we have anticipated proposing significant solutions to the client's real challenges, long before they became problems. It is in this context of collaboration and genuine contribution that trust is built in the relationship with customers, they simply know that they can count on us for their greatest challenges.

What is your favorite memory with the VEC team?

The memories I cherish the most come from team integration. Our retreats are always incredible, with lots of collaboration and the creation of important bonds between company members and their families. Another moment I remember with great joy was during my visit to the team in the United States, where I was able to have real and genuine contact with people I had only met virtually and felt, once again, the meaning of the value “Better Together”.

What is the unique value that you bring to VEC?

I’ve had a chance over the last decade plus to engage with owners, builders, and designers on projects all over the world. One key insight is that many of the challenges are shared by each stakeholder group, but they are approaching solutions from a different perspective. I bring a unique and broad industry perspective that will help our clients work better together as effective teams across the supply chain by bringing clarity to the challenges they face and driving innovative solutions that position VEC as a trusted partner. My background in data and AI also brings a perspective on the importance of data governance and standardization, which becomes increasingly important as more of the industry adopts cutting-edge tools. My hope is to leverage this expertise to modernize and streamline VEC’s operations internally, and to deliver value to our clients to help the best build better.

What does innovation mean at VEC?

VEC was built on innovation from the start. Our proven track record of using advanced technology solutions to deliver real-world value for projects doesn’t need to be reinvented, because the strong foundation is there. But we need to evolve, and help our client evolve with us. Innovation is in our DNA, and that necessitates change and growth as technology evolves. We are in a period of unprecedented change across the industry and the world at large, and my goal is to build systems and processes that will allow us to stay ahead of the curve. The opportunity for the next phase of growth at VEC is to expand our breadth and our depth to deliver value to our clients across the entire project lifecycle.
