When I first discovered Revit and learned about the benefits of BIM for enhancing industry efficiency and building quality, I knew I had to make it my personal mission to turn this vision into a reality. VEC serves as a prime example of how we can achieve these goals by challenging the status quo and empowering field crews to bring to life what we built virtually.
One of my favorite examples of challenging traditional practices and accomplishing something new in the industry was the Block 33 project. We were tasked to deliver overnight Scan to Model comparison, with the goal of checking steel embeds, rebar, and formwork before pouring concrete, making sure everything was within a 1" precision. We had a successful end result and the concrete structure we poured broke the record for the lowest cost due to concrete rework.
I had so many great moments with the team that it’s hard to choose a favorite. I believe the most representative of our culture was during two critical moments: the pandemic lockdown and when Russia attacked Ukraine. These two moments were tough on all of us, but we all worked through them together. We proved that together we could overcome all challenges, still satisfy client needs, and help each other achieve our goals.
We are always better together!
